The Wedding of Tim & Charmaine
Wedding Photographer and Videographer London. Tim and Charmaine got married in July 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic. Nothing could stop them from tying the knot and becoming man and wife.
We had the absolute privilege of capturing both photography and videography for them.
Tim and Charmaine were married at their local church in Crouch End, London. Charmaine was getting ready at her family home just down the road. Tim did his final preparations at the church along with making sure everything was ready to go.
It was then time for the ceremony!
Due to the restrictions put in place because of the coronavirus pandemic Tim and Charmaine had opted to hold their ceremony with just 28 guests (+ the photographer and videographer!).
Because of the restrictions they opted to also have a private livestream of the ceremony. This meant that friends and family could watch the ceremony and be a part of their special day.
People watched from all over the world, in different time zones all dressed up with a glass toast the happy couple. Above all, it meant people felt totally included in their wedding day. It was really special.
Once the ceremony was over it was then onto the Chinese tea drinking ceremony!
This was a truly special moment for Tim and Charmaine’s wedding day. Moreover, the traditional tea drinking ceremony gave them an opportunity to greet, thank and pay tribute to their families.
Capturing these special moments through photography and video was key to them.
I use a candid unobtrusive photography. As a result, this ensures key moments like these are captured perfectly in the most discreet way possible.

Despite changes in plans (not having a reception, adding a livestream, squeezing in a Chinese tea ceremony) Noah was full of ideas and direction so we felt extremely confident in the run up to the wedding.
Having never organised a wedding before, let alone with so many restrictions, there was a lot of unchartered territory for us, and we didn’t realise how much we would rely on Noah’s expertise to keep the day running smoothly, both for our virtual guests as well as the actual gathering.
In retrospect, Noah probably had to do more than a “usual” photographer as there was much less structure to the celebration, as well as the streaming in parallel – but he was always fully in control and in great spirits, which was hugely reassuring and allowed us to relax and enjoy the ceremony.
The presence of him and his assistant Shaun was also probably more “felt” compared to usual weddings, as they were two of only 30 people there, but they were both so excellent, they weren’t conspicuous or distracting at all – which is a huge feat considering they had literally nowhere to hide.
We were also slightly worried the photos and video would be sparse as there was probably less material than normal, and we were also in central London without the scenic coastlines/castles we had seen in Noah’s previous work, but Noah still managed to create the same quietly joyful atmosphere we had hoped for, and to find beauty and romance in a church car park, and also a graffitied alleyway – so we can be sure it wasn’t a fluke, just talent!!
